You may be in a relationship that you no longer wish to be in right now, but how can you leave them without feeling like the most horrible person in the world?
According to an article by The Guardian, the worst way to breakup with someone is to just disappear without saying a word. You just stop contacting them without telling them anything at all, not a single reason. By doing so, you left the person thinking “Why?”. They will keep wondering what really happened, why the relationship ended, was it something they did wrong. So many questions will go unanswered, and frankly, it’s just rude.
So what’s the BEST way to breakup with someone? There’s no good way to do this, but the most humane and polite way is to tell the other person about it. Tell them your reasons, explain it to them, and inform them that this is ending. Do not leave them wondering. You were once intimate with that person, so the least you can do is tell them what’s about to happen. At least that way they’ll have a chance to ask you or tell you about the thoughts in there head.
Some people believe that breaking up over the phone, through email or even a chat is okay; while others think that it should be done face-to-face. However, this probably depends on how deep your relationship was. If it was a long relationship, a face-to-face talk would be appropriate, but if you’ve only been dating for a few weeks, then may be a text is acceptable. It’s all up to you. What’s important is that you TELL them.
