London-based fintech firm Trading.co.uk is launching an app that will generate trading alerts for shares based on comments made on social media by the new US President Donald Trump, reports Reuters.
Keeping an eye on the U.S. President-elect’s personal Twitter feed has become a new habit for the business leaders, fund managers and traders who invest billions of dollars daily on world stock, currency and commodity markets.
For instance, Trump’s tweets have previously caused major variations in stock markets. His comments on a pharmaceutical firm getting away with murder, led to several billion dollars worth of the firm’s stocks being knocked off.
This gave birth to Trading.co.uk to rise as stock-market-monitoring app created to chart the fluctuations in stocks based on comments made by Trump on social media.
The app will let users know when Trump tweets, when he mentions a particular stock, or when he mentions a stock and a country.
